The ascent of Pizzo Scalino (3323 m) is one of the most fascinating alpine excursions in Valmalenco, thanks to its distinctive pyramid shape and the breathtaking panorama from the summit. Often referred to as the "Matterhorn of Valmalenco" due to its elegant silhouette, Pizzo Scalino offers a moderately difficult climb, also suitable for less experienced mountaineers.

Pizzo Scalino Normal Route

The Pizzo Scalino ascent starts from the Campo Moro Dam (1990 m), following the trail leading to Rifugio Cristina (2228 m). From there, the path continues over rocky terrain and scree until reaching the Pizzo Scalino Glacier, where the more technical part of the ascent begins. The final stretch, along a mixed rocky and snowy ridge, leads directly to the summit cross. Return following the ascent route.

From the summit of Pizzo Scalino, the view is truly spectacular: you can admire the Bernina Group, Monte Disgrazia, the Rhaetian Alps, and even the peaks of South Tyrol and Switzerland. An unmissable experience for high-mountain enthusiasts!
