Peuterey Ridge – The longest and most challenging route to ascent Mont Blanc!
The Peuterey Ridge Integral is an ultra-classic alpine route for elite climbers, combining beauty, exposure, and pure adventure. It is one of the hardest ways to reach Mont Blanc, but also one of the most rewarding: one of the most aesthetic ridges in the Alps, a true high-altitude adventure, highly committing, once on the ridge, retreat is extremely difficult, requires mastery of multiple disciplines, rock climbing, ice climbing, endurance, and high-altitude navigation.

Peuterey Ridge mountaineering experience

The Peuterey Ridge is one of the most legendary and demanding routes to the summit of Mont Blanc (4809 m). It is the longest, most technical, and most committing ridge on the mountain, often considered one of the greatest alpine climbs in the entire Alps. The route follows the Peuterey Integral, which traverses a spectacular and exposed skyline from the Aiguille Noire de Peuterey to the summit of Mont Blanc.

Route Overview:

Approach & First Section - Aiguille Noire de Peuterey (3773 m)
The climb begins from Val Veny, with an approach to the Borelli Bivouac (2325 m).
The first major obstacle is the Aiguille Noire de Peuterey, a challenging rock climb (up to 5c/6a difficulty).
A series of rappels lead to the Dames Anglaises, an exposed and committing section.

Second Section – Peuterey Ridge
Climbers ascend the Aiguille Blanche de Peuterey (4112 m), which involves mixed climbing on rock and ice.
The final major obstacle before Mont Blanc is the Grand Pilier d'Angle (4243 m), a steep and demanding ice/mixed face.

Final Ascent to Mont Blanc
The last stretch follows the Bosses Ridge, leading to the summit of Mont Blanc.
