The Croda di Cengles via ferrata from Solda offers a complete adventure, combining a scenic approach, a thrilling vertical climb, and breathtaking alpine views. It is perfect for experienced mountaineers looking for an adrenaline-filled challenge in the heart of the Alps!

The starting point of the excursion is from Solda (Sulden am Ortler - 1900 m), follow a hiking trail no. 5 through the Zay Valley to the Serristori Refuge and then towards the Croda di Cengles (3375 m). After approximately 2 hours of approach, you reach the start of the via ferrata.

The Croda di Cengles via ferrata climbs steep and exposed rock faces, with sections equipped with steel cables, footholds, and artificial holds. The route is highly vertical and technical, requiring arm strength and solid via ferrata experience.

The exit from the ferrata leads to an incredible panoramic viewpoint, offering stunning views over the Ortles-Cevedale Group: Ortler, Gran Zebrù, Mount Zebrù, Mount Angelo Grande, Vertrana Peak. The descent from Croda di Cengles takes place along the Normal route leading back to Solda.
