Mont Maudit ascent

Climbing Mont Maudit (4465 m), a fascinating peak of the Mont Blanc massif, along the Kuffner Ridge route, is an extremely exciting mountaineering experience that takes place in two days. Every mountaineer must try this mountaineering climb at least once: one of the most beautiful high mountain climbs in the Alps, with a logical, aesthetic, highly exposed line.

Day one
The appointment with the mountain guide for the equipment check is at the Skyway Mont Blanc cable car station. Riding the cable car the mountaineers will reach Punta Helbronner and Rifugio Torino. Dinner and overnight stay at the refuge.

Day two
From the refuge, the climb starts in the early hours of the day. The summit of Mont Maudit, along the Kuffner Ridge route, can be reached in about 5/6 hours with an elevation gain of 1300 meters. From the top the mountaineers can admire unforgettable panorama. The descent is along the Glacier du Géant. The ascent and descent takes approximately 10/12 hours.

Kuffner Ridge
The climb begins on snow/ice slopes, followed by sections of rock and mixed terrain.
The ridge unfolds elegantly, alternating technical and easier sections, with snow slopes, sharp ridges, and rock steps (up to grade III).
The crux of the route often involves overcoming cornices or icy slabs.
