Innominata Ridge - A wild and challenging route on Mont Blanc!
The Innominata Ridge is one of the most spectacular and demanding routes to the summit of Mont Blanc (4809 m) from the Italian side. It is a wild and remote ridge located between the Brouillard Ridge and the Peuterey Ridge, offering a highly technical mixed climb.

This route is much less frequented than the classic ascents of Mont Blanc, but it is considered one of the most aesthetic and adventurous, with exposed sections on rock and ice that require excellent mountaineering skills.

Innominata Ridge mountaineering experience

The Innominata Ridge embodies the true spirit of classic alpinism: isolation, beauty, and technical difficulty. It is a perfect choice for experienced climbers looking for a memorable adventure on one of Mont Blanc's most spectacular routes:
Technical and wild terrain, a mix of rock climbing, exposed ridges, and steep ice slopes;
Rarely climbed and highly aesthetic, an adventurous alternative to the normal routes;
A major physical and mental challenge, requiring endurance and solid high-altitude mountaineering skills.

Route Overview:

Approach
The climb starts from Val Veny, with a long approach to Rifugio Monzino (2590 m).
From there, the route continues to Bivacco Eccles (3850 m), the base camp for the ridge. Reaching the bivouac is already a technical ascent over glaciers and rocky ridges.

Ascent on the Innominata Ridge
The ridge begins with sections of rock climbing (up to IV+ grade) and mixed terrain with snow and ice.
The route is exposed and demanding, featuring sharp ridges and steep rock walls.
After passing the Punta Innominata (3900 m), the climb continues on mixed ground with steep slopes leading to the Bosses Ridge.

Final section and Mont Blanc summit
The last part follows the Bosses Ridge to the summit of Mont Blanc (4809 m).
After a long ascent, the reward is an incredible panoramic view over the Alps.

Descent
The descent is usually via one of the Mont Blanc normal routes at the discretion of the Guide.
