The ascent of Grandes Jorasses along the Pointe Walker Normal Route is one of the classic and most fascinating alpine routes in the Mont Blanc massif. Pointe Walker Normal Route

Climbing Pointe Walker (4208 m), the highest summit of the Grandes Jorasses, a group of six granite peaks of the Mont Blanc massif on the border of France and Italy, along the Normal Route, is an extremely exciting mountaineering experience that takes place in two days. Every mountaineer must try this mountaineering climb at least once: the climb is technically demanding and requires experience and good physical fitness.

Day one
The appointment with the mountain guide for the equipment check is at the Skyway Mont Blanc cable car station. Transfer to Val Ferret, from Planpincieux with a 1200 meter walk of altitude difference the mountaineers reach the Boccalatte-Piolti refuge in about 3-4 hours. Dinner and overnight stay at the refuge.

Day two
From the refuge, the climb starts in the early hours of the day. The summit of Pointe Walker, along the Normal route, can be reached in about 6 hours with an elevation gain of 1400 meters. From the top of the highest peak of the Grandes Jorasses, the mountaineers can admire unforgettable panorama. The descent is along the same route or from the Rochers Whymper with an elevation loss of 2630 meters. The ascent and descent takes approximately 12/14 hours.
