Carè Alto mountaineering ascent

The ascent of Cima Carè Alto via the East Ridge - Cerana route, is a challenging and panoramic climb, ideal for experienced mountaineers looking for a complete and technical route in a remote and fascinating alpine setting, with spectacular views over the Rhaetian Alps and the Adamello massif.

Day 01
The starting point of the route can be from Rifugio Carè Alto "Dante Ongari" (2459 m), accessible from Val di Borzago in about 4 hours and 1200 meters elevation gain.
Dinner and overnight stay at the hut.

Day 02
The route begins with a climb over boulder fields and snowfields to the base of the East Ridge.
The ascent follows the ridge with rock climbing sections (Grade III) and passages on snow and ice.
After several exposed and aerial sections, the route leads to the summit of Cima Carè Alto (3463 m).
The view from the cross of the summit is breathtaking!
